Man Killed in Traffic Crash

Titusville Police Department Posted on January 21, 2021

A local man was killed in a traffic crash involving two vehicles at approximately 10:30 PM on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the intersection of South Washington Avenue (US #1) and Cheney Highway. 

The preliminary investigation revealed that a gold 2006 Buick Lucerne, driven by Ronnie Dale Huggins Jr., 33, of Cocoa, drove through a red-light signal at a high rate of speed southbound South Washington Avenue. Huggins, subsequently hit Jonathan Edward Duff, 48, of Titusville, who was driving a silver 2001 Ford Mustang, as he was attempting a left turn northbound on South Washington Avenue from Cheney Highway. 

Duff was ejected from the vehicle. 

Duff was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

Huggins was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. 

There were no other injuries. 

Charges are pending against Huggins. 

This traffic crash remains under investigation by the Titusville Police Department and further details will be released upon its conclusion by traffic crash investigators.
