Titusville Police have arrested a local woman in connection with a shooting that occurred at approximately 4:45 PM, September 6, 2023, at a school bus stop near the intersection of Sisson Road and Little League Lane.
Ashley Nicole Wyns, 32, of Titusville was charged with a total of six felony counts which include:
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2 counts)
- Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm in Public
- Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony
- Discharge of a Firearm at a Designated School Area/Bus Stop
- Child Neglect
The preliminary investigation revealed Wyns approached the Brevard County School Bus at the designated stop and had a brief verbal interaction with the driver. She then returned to her vehicle, which was parked very close and parallel to the bus, and fired a gunshot in the direction of the stopped school bus with approximately a dozen children on board.
Wyns fled the scene in her vehicle immediately after the incident.
There were no reported injuries.
At approximately 9:30 PM that evening, officers located Wyns driving her vehicle near the initial incident. She was stopped and taken into custody without incident.
Ashley Nicole Wyns was booked into the Brevard County Jail and is being held on a $145,000 bond.
This incident remains under investigation and further details will be released.
