Per Florida Department of Transportation:
"This is to inform you that the Florida East Coast Railroad is closing South Street (S.R. 405) between Dummitt Avenue and Palm Avenue in Titusville, Brevard County from 7 a.m. October 25th, through 6 p.m. October 29th. The Florida East Coast Railroad requires this road closure to complete a railroad crossing rehabilitation project. This project will ensure that the crossing is safer by
installing new surface materials and providing a smoother transition over the railroad tracks. This will benefit the motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians that utilize the crossing daily.
The Department will provide a comprehensive detour plan to the proper individuals at the City of Titusville and Brevard County in advance of the road closure. Advanced notification along the roadway will be in place at least ten (10) days prior to the road closure. Additional public outreach is forth coming. Please note that the work schedule may change due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
