Arrest Made in Early Morning Shooting

A local man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred on the 4200 block of Tiwa Lane at approximately 3:45 AM on Saturday, August 15th 2020.

Mark Dalton Taylor, 25, of Titusville, was charged with:

  • 3 Felony counts Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon 
  • 1 Felony count of Shooting into an Occupied Vehicle
  • Loitering and Prowling

The preliminary investigation has revealed that the two adult female victims and 1 juvenile victim were delivering newspapers when they drove past the suspect who was walking on the street. As the victims rolled the vehicle window down, the suspect fired a bullet from a handgun and struck the vehicle.

The suspect fled the scene on foot.

There were no injuries, however, the vehicle was rendered disabled.

 Police arrived on scene, established a perimeter and began searching for the at-large suspect.

Within minutes, the suspect was located by police on a nearby dock, taken into custody without incident, positively identified and booked into the Brevard County Jail without bond.
