BREVARD COUNTY, FL — The Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization (SCTPO) has elected Mayor Andrew Connors as Chairman of its Board, marking a significant leadership moment for North Brevard and the entire Space Coast region. Mayor Connors will lead the board through a pivotal era of transportation investment, infrastructure modernization, and growth driven by the expanding aerospace and high-tech economy.
“I’m honored to serve as Chairman of the SCTPO,” said Mayor Connors. “Our region is experiencing unprecedented opportunities and with that comes the responsibility to plan wisely, connect our communities, relieve congestion, and ensure safe, efficient mobility for all residents. Together, we will build a transportation network that supports the Space Coast of today and the Space Coast of tomorrow.”
As Chairman, Mayor Connors will guide regional collaboration across Brevard’s municipalities, county government, state agencies, and federal partners.
Mayor Connors has been a strong advocate for Titusville and North Brevard, championing strategic investments such as downtown Titusville safety improvements, FDOT-funded roadway enhancements, and safety-driven infrastructure upgrades. His election reflects a growing recognition of North Brevard’s role in the region’s economic resurgence and the importance of ensuring that transportation planning keeps pace with industry growth on the Space Coast.
“The Space Coast is rising,” Connors said. “Our transportation decisions today will shape how this region grows for generations. I’m committed to making sure every community north, central, and south has a voice and a seat at the table.”
The SCTPO Board is composed of elected officials and transportation leaders from across Brevard County and serves as the official metropolitan planning organization responsible for prioritizing and programming federal and state transportation investments.
