Suspect Arrested For False Report
Tuesday, June 04, 2019

A local man was arrested for making a false report to police in reference to a strong-armed robbery.
Henry Lee Campbell, 65, of Cocoa, was charged with Filing a False Report of a Crime.
Titusville Police responded to a report of a strong-armed robbery at approximately 9:30 AM on Monday, June 3rd 2019, near the intersection of Cheney Highway and Hopkins Avenue.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect reported to police that he was attacked by an unknown assailant, and the money that he had just withdrew from his account at TD Bank was stolen.
Detectives used evidentiary information and surveillance footage to determine that the suspect was not attacked and hid his money in a wooded area near the reported scene.
Police arrested the suspect Monday afternoon when he arrived at the police department to obtain a copy of the false report.
Campbell was booked into the Brevard County Jail with a $500 bond.
