Monday's (May 27) collection of garbage and yard trash will be on Tuesday (May 28), and Tuesday’s collection will be on Wednesday (May 29).  There will be no other changes for the week.

CRIMELINE Tip Leads to Arrest of Hit and Run Suspect

A local man was arrested in connection with the September 12th 2018, hit and run traffic crash involving an adult female bicyclist and a vehicle at the entrance of the Cumberland Farms convenience store with the help of an anonymous CRIMELINE tip.
Alexander Edward Birmingham, 34, of Titusville, was arrested by Titusville Police on October 6th 2018 and charged with Leaving the Scene of a Crash with Property Damage and Driving with a Suspended License with Knowledge.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Birmingham initially stopped, exited the vehicle, approached the bicyclist, but quickly got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.
Surveillance photos were released to the public.
Investigators received crucial investigative leads through the CRIMELINE anonymous tip line, which ultimately led to the identity and subsequent arrest of the suspect.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Birmingham is being held at the Brevard County Jail with a $1000 bond.
