At approximately 6:20 AM on Friday, June 22nd 2018, Titusville Police responded to a report of a hit and run traffic crash involving a vehicle and a residence at the 4500 block of South Washington Avenue (U.S. #1).
The preliminary investigation revealed that the driver of a red 2017 4-door Hyundai Elantra, traveling northbound on South Washington Avenue, lost control, crossed the center median, entered the southbound lane of traffic and crashed into a residence.
The adult male driver and juvenile passenger fled the crash scene on foot. Police set up a perimeter in the area of Mount Vernon Avenue and Coquina Avenue. The Titusville Police K9 Unit began tracking and quickly located the juvenile and the fleeing suspect, who was hiding in thick bushes.
Quentin Ymu Mitchell Jr., 32, of Mims, was arrested and charged with: Leaving the Scene of a Traffic Crash with Property Damage, Driving with Knowledge of a Suspended License, Resisting a Law Enforcement Officer without Violence and Violation of Probation.
Mitchell and the juvenile were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
There were no other injuries.
Mitchell was released from the hospital, booked into the Brevard County Jail and is currently being held without bond.
