The health and safety of our citizens and Staff is the City’s top priority. The City will begin reopening our facilities by using a phased in approach by dates. These dates are subject to change as conditions warrant. The health and safety of our citizens and Staff remains the City’s top priority. The City will take extra precautions during our reopening including issuing antibacterial/antimicrobial washable masks to all of our employees. There will be physical distancing measures in place along with extra disinfecting cleaning for touch points.
City Hall reopened to the public by appointment only on May 6th . All other facilities will remain closed to the public.
Our employees that have been working remote returned to working live today May 11th. Vulnerable employees will remain on administrative leave until the State goes to reopening phase 2.

No-cost COVID-19 testing is becoming more available as the State and County would like to enhance the ability of residents to be tested, and symptoms are no longer required.
A State-run 400-car-per-day drive-thru site will be opening at the Palm Bay campus of Eastern Florida State College in the next week or so (details to be firmed up).
The Florida Department of Health-Brevard is broadening their Viera testing site to asymptomatic patients beginning Monday. Scheduled appointments are required.
The City of Palm Bay will open a drive-up testing site at their City Hall next Wednesday. Scheduled appointments will be required.
The Board of County Commissioners approved the use of up to $4.4 million in CARES funds for housing rental and mortgage assistance, housing utility and security deposit, and food stability for individuals impacted by COVID-19 and approved partnering with the Florida Division of Emergency Management for the establishment of a State-operated drive-thru testing site in Palm Bay, as well as pursuing community testing sites in north, central and beach-side locations.
Brevard County Beaches are open. Playalinda beaches remain closed.
County Libraries will begin opening in phases and in compliance with the Governor’s 25% capacity recommendation and CDC recommendations for social distancing and sanitization.
