The health and safety of our citizens and Staff is the City’s top priority. All City facilities remain closed to the general public. City employees are working to serve our community like always. Staff continues to provide essential services to citizens through the preferred use of technology and telephones. Public Safety, Public Works, and Water Resources departments continue essential services with minimum disruptions.
There are 192 confirmed COVID-19 cases, and 6 deaths in Brevard County. The pandemic currently affects over 185 countries, with more than 2,151,199 cases worldwide, including 667,225 cases in the United States.
Initial phases of faith-based “pop-up” food pantries distribution and operations started today; approximately 25,000 pounds of food were delivered to three sites, and served over 215 families. North Brevard site is scheduled for operations tomorrow.

A self-certification form was approved by the BOCC and Policy Group today, enabling domestic violence survivors and others with a legitimate need to shelter in Brevard County lodging to do so for medical, personal, or business purposes. The Non-Congregate Sheltering Framework was approved by the Brevard County EOC Policy Group.
Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-104: Unemployment’s biweekly reporting of "actively seeking work" requirement has been suspended temporarily.
Governor DeSantis announced he will form a taskforce to help with the resurgence and reopening of Florida after COVID-19. The task force will recommend the most prudent way to safely re-open Florida’s economy in a phased-in approach. The task force will also place a significant emphasis on small businesses.
