The health and safety of our citizens and Staff is the City’s top priority. All City facilities remain closed to the general public. City employees are working to serve our community like always. Staff continues to provide essential services to citizens through the preferred use of technology and telephones. Public Safety, Public Works, and Water Resources departments continue essential services with minimum disruptions.
There are 173 confirmed COVID-19 cases, and 6 deaths in Brevard County. The pandemic currently affects over 185 countries, with more than 2,049,888 cases worldwide, including 634,975 cases in the United States.
Brevard County Parks & Recreation are closing all playgrounds until further notice. Parks and trails remain open.
Publix announced extra shopping hours for first responders and hospital staff: Thursday evenings, 8 – 9 pm, and Friday mornings, 7 – 8 am. This change in hours will begin April 16. Publix Pharmacy will also be open during these times.
Patrick Air Force Base Personnel entering Patrick Air Force Base or Cape Canaveral Air Force Station are not required to have face coverings. Security Forces at Patrick Air Force Base and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station entry control points will scan, but limit touching of all identification cards. Face coverings are required in certain locations. Examples include the Medical Group, Commissary, Base Exchange, as well as any other locations where you can’t maintain a six-foot separation.
Governor DeSantis announced Floridians can text “FLCOVID19” to 888-777 to receive the latest updates on Florida’s fight against COVID-19. Residents may call 2-1-1 for up-to-date information between 8 am and 6 pm daily. The FDOH COVID-19 call center is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day at 1-866-779-6121, but is experiencing a large volume of calls. Another option is to email COVIDfirstname.lastname@example.org
