City of Titusville COVID-19 Update/SITREP as of 10-Apr-20 / 1100
The health and safety of our citizens and Staff is the City’s top priority. All City facilities remain closed to the general public. City employees are working to serve our community like always. Staff continues to provide essential services to citizens through the preferred use of technology and telephones. Public Safety, Public Works, and Water Resources departments continue essential services with minimum disruptions. As of April 9th at 6 p.m. there are 111 reported cases of COVID-19 and 2 deaths in Brevard County. The coronavirus global pandemic currently affects over 184 countries, with more than 1,587,209 cases worldwide, including 456,828 cases in the United States. Brevard County Public Schools has served 62,500 meals; there will no meal distribution on April 10 due to a planned student/teacher holiday. All 27 sites will reopen Monday, April 13, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Department of Children and Families will waive work requirements for individuals participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program; additional information can be accessed by calling 850-300-4DCF or click on this link: https://www.myflorida.com/accessflorida/ Department of Defense: Focused on the response for service members, families, and Department of Defense civilians. They are currently focused on new guidance regarding special pay related to the restriction of movement and FAQs for Service members and their families via https://www.militaryonesource.mil/coronavirus and other communications. The Department of Defense is using social media and other means to cross-post resources for Service members and their families. They are extensively transitioning in-person financial counseling to virtual counseling using teleconferencing and other methods.
