City of Titusville COVID-19 Update/SITREP as of 31-Mar-20 / 0900
All City facilities remain closed to the general public. Staff continues to provide essential services to citizens through the preferred use of technology and telephones. Public Safety, Public Works, and Water Resources departments continue services with minimum disruptions. Our City Emergency Management team continues close coordination with our Brevard County Emergency Management partners. Brevard County Emergency Operations Center transitioned from Level 2 to Level 1 yesterday March 30th.
The Agency for Health Care Administration and Department of Health are working with health care providers to prevent the introduction and spread of COVID-19 in long-term care facilities. Facilities will be visited within the next week by regional emergency medical service personnel to assist long-term care facilities with assessing and improving their preparedness for responding to COVID-19.
Brevard County Public Schools began distance learning which will remain in effect until May 1st . There are now 27 food distribution sites. Each student may receive 2 breakfasts and 2 lunches per visit. Parents may now pick up meals if they provide the student’s birth certificate or other ID, so students are no longer required to be in the vehicle.
Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-86. This order states that all persons whose point of departure originates from Louisiana and the Tri-State Area (Connecticut, New Jersey and New York), entering the State of Florida must isolate/quarantine for a period of 14 days from the time of arrival. Highway checkpoints will be added on certain roadways to enforce restrictions. Additional checkpoints are set up on I-10 and I-95 to screen individuals who are arriving in Florida from COVID-19 hotspots.
Governor DeSantis issued executive order 20-87 that states all vacations rentals, rental of any house, condominium, cooperative, or dwelling unit that is also a transient public lodging establishment are prohibited from making new reservations or bookings and shall not accept new guests for check-in.
Governor DeSantis announced the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity will be making $100 million available through Rebuild Florida to local governments statewide for infrastructure improvements to improve local economies.
Governor DeSantis directed sales and use taxes to be due on April 30 (originally due April 20), and property taxes to be due April 15 (originally due March 31).
The State Surgeon General issued a health advisory stating anyone 65 or older, or with high-risk conditions, should remain in their residence and take measures to limit their risk of exposure to COVID-19. High-risk conditions include chronic lung disease; moderate to severe asthma; serious heart conditions; immunocompromised status (as a result of cancer treatment, bone marrow or organ transplant, immune deficiencies, poorly controlled HIV or AIDS, or prolonged use of corticosteroids and other immune weakening medications); cancer; severe obesity (BMI>40); diabetes; renal failure; and liver disease. Employers should make every effort to reduce the onsite workforce to 50% capacity, where possible, to the extent that reduction can be accomplished without significantly disrupting the ability to conduct business
As of March 30th at 6 p.m., there are 28 confirmed COVID-19 cases in Brevard County. The pandemic currently affects over 178 countries, with more than 775,306 cases worldwide, including 159,184 cases in the United States.
Space Coast Area Transit has waived all fares through April 30th.
Residents may call 2-1-1 for up-to-date information between 8 AM and 6 PM daily. The FDOH COVID-19 call center is available 7 days a week, 24 hours a day at 1-866-779-6121, but is experiencing a large volume of calls. Another option is to email COVIDemail@example.com
