As of July 29th at 9:25am there are 5,254 COVID-19 cases (5,233 Brevard residents and 21 non-residents) with 374 hospitalizations and 95 fatalities in Brevard County. There are 320 COVID-19 cases in Titusville.
The health and safety of our citizens and Staff is the City’s top priority. The Titusville City Council approved Resolution Number 21-2020 which encourages face coverings at all indoor locations throughout the city in order to minimize spread of the COVID-19 virus, subject to certain exceptions. Resolution 21-2020 encourages every person working, living, visiting, or doing business in the city of Titusville to wear a face covering in any indoor location, other than their home or residence, when not maintaining social distancing from other persons(s), excluding family members or companion(s).
Parrish Medical Center is providing testing in North Brevard by appointment by calling 321-268-6139 or text “covid test” to 321-204-1699.
Testing locations and times are:
- Parrish Health and Fitness Center parking lot 2210 Cheney Highway in Titusville on Tuesday afternoons.
- St. James Missionary Baptist Church 2396 Harry T. Moore Ave in Mims on Wednesday afternoons.
- Harry T. Moore Social Services Center 725 S. Deleon Ave Titusville on Thursday afternoons.
- Parrish Medical Offices 7075 US 1 Port St. John on Friday mornings.
- Gibson Youth Center 835 Sycamore St. Titusville on Saturday mornings.
The Workforce Recovery Assistance Program, available to small businesses (fewer than 50 employees) impacted by COVID-19 can apply to have employee pay covered for up to 16 weeks. On July 7th, the Brevard County Board of Commissioners authorized the use of federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding for operating a short-term economic relief program for small businesses dealing with the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. This program is expected to provide those local businesses with the opportunity to apply for a one-time only grant – in an amount not to exceed $10,000 – while program funding exists. If you are interested in applying for this grant, please go to https://www.brevardfl.gov/BrevardCARES/home, beginning today Monday July 27th, 2020. Governor DeSantis has deployed a second round of Incident Management Teams to all long-term care facilities to check on infection control, screening procedures & PPE supply. The state has twenty COVID-exclusive facilities to relieve the pressure on both long-term care facilities and hospitals.
Governor DeSantis has amended Executive Order 20-69 Emergency Management – COVID-19 - Local Government Public Meetings with Executive Order 20-179 (see attached).
