Lieutenant Josh Little grew up in Alamogordo, New Mexico and graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1992. Josh moved to Florida in 1993 and graduated from the Melbourne Police Academy in 1994. He began his career with us in 1995. Between 1995 and 2005 Josh was assigned to several specialties units within the Patrol Division to include the Neighborhood Patrol Unit, Field Training Officer, Traffic Unit, Crime Suppression Unit, was a member of the agencies SWAT Team for eight years, and was temporarily assigned to the Special Investigation Section as a Detective.
In 2005 he was promoted to Corporal and held supervisory positions in the Patrol Division, Special Investigations Section, and the Criminal Investigations Division. In 2007 Josh was promoted to Sergeant holding supervisory positions within the Patrol Division, Special Investigations Section, Crime Suppression Unit, Crisis Negotiation Team, and was assigned as an Administrative Sergeant.
In 2014 he was promoted to Lieutenant responsible for the North Sector, Field Training Program, Traffic Unit, Reserve Program, Honor Guard, Community Watch, along with other assigned duties.
Josh currently assists in overseeing the day to day operations within the Administrative Division to include building maintenance, Fleet Maintenance, Logistics, Computer Network and Technology Analysts, and the Records Division.
Josh obtained his AAS degree from Brevard Community College and is currently working to complete his Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership with Colorado State University – Global Campus. He has attended The FBI-LEEDA Supervisory Institute, THE FBI-LEEDA Command Institute for Law Enforcement Executives, The Florida Leadership Academy Class 08, IACP’s Leading by Legacy, and has received Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Josh and his wife Tammy have two children.
