ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE: S. Park Avenue at Smith Lane (south side of Smith) will be closed for TWO WEEKS starting October 15 at approximately 6 a.m.  The road will be closed 24-hours a day throughout the time period.  A detour will run through Smith Ln. out to Park Avenue and the side streets such as Rosella and Tudor.

Hubert Williams (Ret.)

Hubert Williams 1967 to 1992

Hubert Williams began his career with the Titusville Police Department in October of 1967. Hubert obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Central Florida in 1976 and completed an internship with the City Manager’s Office.

He worked in the Traffic Division, Investigator/Detective/Vice section, served six years as a Patrol Sergeant, and worked as an acting Lieutenant. Hubert also supervised the department’s Emergency Response Team (ERT). Hubert was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 1989.

Hubert received various accolades including the Lawman of the Year award in April 1975, presented by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. Officer of the Month Award for November 1980, and the City Employee of the Month Award in January 1987.

In 1992, as Hubert entered into retirement after 25 years of service, he received an honorary promotion to the rank of Captain. Hubert wrote on his official notice of retirement, “My 25 years as a Titusville police officer have been the best years of my life”.
