Officer Bill Gillespie

William “Bill” Gillespie was hired in January 1976 as a police officer. He had originally begun service to the Titusville Police Department in 1972 when he signed on as a cadet Auxiliary Officer.
Bill was a longtime Motor Officer assigned to traffic enforcement and put in twelve years on a police motorcycle until he took on an assignment as a School Resource Officer in 1994. After nine years as an SRO, Bill retired with 28 years of service.
In 1992, Bill was named “Officer of the Year. Also during his tenure with our department, Bill won a Life Saving Award, Meritorious Award,  and two Officer of the Month awards.
