Sergeant Barry Williams (Ret.)

Barry Williams began his career at Titusville Police in October 1979 as a Communications Operator (Dispatch). A year later in 1980, he became a police officer.

Barry was promoted to Sergeant in 1987,  Lieutenant in the early 90's, and to Commander in 1999. Barry served in many roles including as the ERT (SWAT) Leader and Firearms Instructor. Although serving for years at Command Staff level, Barry chose to finish out his career as a patrol Sergeant, the job he said he most loved.

Barry was recognized numerous times throughout his career including the Gallantry Star, Life Saving Award, five Unit Citations, three Officer of the Month, and was named the Supervisor of the Quarter in 2001.
