Commander Steve Bridges (Ret)

Steve Bridges joined the Titusville Police Department in May of 1976. For the first seven years with the Department, he served as a patrol officer in the Patrol Division, as well as a Field Training Officer and an Advisor to the Police Explorers.

He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1983, Lieutenant in 1992, Captain in 1995, and Commander in 1999.

During his career he oversaw the Field Training Program; the Crisis Negotiation team; Support Services which included Communications, Records and Crime Prevention; the Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations;  Staff Services, which included training, recruitment and selection of personnel and internal investigations. Steve also supervised the School Crossing Guards, the Community Watch Program, and the Police Department Chaplains.

Steve Bridges received his Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice in 1980 from the University of Central Florida.

Commander Bridges signed up to serve his community as a reserve officer after his retirement in 2006.
