Several members of the Titusville Police Department have had the honor to be invited to the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. The FBI National Academy trains U.S. and international law enforcement leaders with the objective of raising law enforcement standards, knowledge, and cooperation worldwide.
The National Academy is offered by invitation only to top leaders and managers in law enforcement nationwide and abroad. Overall, less than 1% of law enforcement officers worldwide attend this elite training.
The Academy consists of 10 weeks of both classroom and physical fitness training alongside special agent trainees. All attendees stay in dorms in the FBI Academy complex located at a Marine Base just outside of Washington D.C.
The cost of training is paid for by the Federal Bureau of Investigations. The approximate cost to train an applicant is $50,000. Applicant's must sign an agreement stating that they intend to stay in law enforcement for at least three years after completion of their training.
