The City of Titusville, Florida / Community Development / Community Redevelopment Agency / US 1 Corridor Streetscape PlanUS 1 Corridor Streetscape Project
The US 1 Corridor Streetscape Plan is a wide-scale resurfacing and road enhancement project. The boundary of the project is between Garden Street to the north and Grace Street to the south. The project will adjust the horizontal alignment, calm traffic, provide greater pedestrian activity, shaded areas, on-street parking, includes entryway signage, wider sidewalks, landscaping and historic lighting.
The CRA has entered into a Local Funding Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to provide for a conceptual design of streetscape improvements for the US 1 Corridor, which includes Washington Avenue and Hopkins Avenue. The consulting firm of Wilson Miller is providing design and engineering services. The City has received a landscape grant from FDOT to provide irrigation and plant materials. The City is working within the FDOT timeline to coordinate the Streetscape Plan with the FDOT resurfacing project. Construction is expected to begin in August of 2009 and estimated at 1.7 million.
