Titusville Police Donate Funds to Youth Baseball
Saturday, April 02, 2011

The Titusville Police Department donated $6000.00 from forfeiture funds to IRC (Indian River City) Little League to purchase two new scoreboards for the little league fields on Little League Lane, off Sisson Road in Titusville.
The use of the funds is part of the department’s diversified approach to using money seized from criminals and putting it back into the community –as regulated by State and Federal law. The 8 foot by 4 foot, Electro-Mech, LED scoreboards were $3000.00 a piece and were needed to replace two older scoreboards which were no longer working.

Florida Power and Light (FPL) donated and installed the poles used for the scoreboards. CSI Signs of Titusville assisted in installing attached graphics promoting the department’s website:  –which provides crime mapping, community outreach information, and valuable crime prevention tips.
“There is no better investment than in the kids of our community”, said Chief Tony Bollinger, who has volunteered as a coach at IRC for several years. “We will continue to invest in youth programs throughout the City each year”.
