This is varied clerical work. Incumbent performs a variety of clerical tasks, including reception/switchboard operation, data entry, and maintenance of records. Incumbent must deal with all levels of City employees, supervision and the public with tact and courtesy. Work is performed according to well-established procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent diploma is required supplemented by course work in secretarial sciences and 1 to 2 years of clerical experience is required, including use of computer and spreadsheet entry and file maintenance programs preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Depending on assignment, possession of a valid Florida Operator’s license. During occasions of local emergencies this position may be required to report to perform emergency tasks, which may result in extended work hours as well as extended periods of time away from family members. The Incident Commander and the employee’s department Head will make the determination as to who will be required to work.
Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines including computers, scanner, typewriters, telephone switchboards, copiers, facsimile machines, etc. Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing only occasionally. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
