|Description: ||ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:|
This is routine fieldwork reading and recording readings on water meters with some responsibility for directing the activities of other meter readers. Incumbent handles routine assignments with little direct supervision. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Meter Technology Coordinator.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent diploma plus two years related experience is required. Ability to perform mathematical calculations and willingness to work outdoors and computer experience required.
Possession of a valid Florida Operator's driver's license. Subject to emergency call-out during off-duty hours and on weekends as required. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Ability to bend over, kneel for long periods of time; lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Ability to get in and out of vehicles, visual and hearing ability. Ability to change out meters and turn water off and on using proper tools. Ability to manually enter data on work orders and in meter books. Ability to tolerate extreme weather conditions.
