|Description: ||ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:|
This is maintenance and repair work of electrical and/or mechanical systems on equipment, structure and vehicles. Knowledge of tools, methods, materials and equipment used in general electrical and/or mechanical system repair. Knowledge of welding techniques depending on assignment. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and sketches. Ability to make inspections to determine operating conditions and repair needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent diploma is required plus two years' experience in the repair and maintenance of electrical/mechanical equipment or structures. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Must possess a Florida Class "D" driver's license. Shall be required to obtain a Florida Commercial Class "B" Driver's license within 6 months from date of hire. Driving record will be checked. Subject to emergency call out during off-duty hours and on weekends as required. Possibility of odd work week schedule.) Ability to read printed material, communicate verbally, operate a vehicle on a daily basis. Ability to operate specialized equipment such as a dump truck, boom truck, air compressor frequently; ability to use hand tools, specialized tools such as welders and torches and safety equipment frequently; ability to climb stairs and ladders frequently, enter confined spaces such as well pits, tanks, and valve pits. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances of up to 50 feet.
