|Description: ||ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:|
This is unskilled manual labor performing a variety of construction and maintenance or refuse collection activities depending on assignment. Work is performed under the immediate direction of an employee of a higher classification. Many tasks are routine and once learned can be performed without difficulty under general supervision.
Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform heavy manual labor and work long hours outdoors, occasionally under adverse weather conditions. Ability to read printed material, speak and hear sounds. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
Depending on position/assignment:
Ability to operate a vehicle on a daily basis. Ability to utilize basic hand tools and safety equipment frequently. Requires current Florida Drivers’ License, depending on assignment (may require depending on assignment: Operator/Non-Commercial Driver's license/Commercial Driver's license Class A or B with endorsements). Depending on assignment: ability to obtain Intermediate Level MOT Certification within 1yr of employment. Driving record will be checked. Prefer one year of related construction/ maintenance experience. Subject to emergency call out during off-duty hours and on weekends as required.
