|Description: ||ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:|
This is technical field work verifying and identifying utility mains and appurtenances through the use of electronic detection equipment, atlas maps, drawings, as-builts, etc., for City of Titusville Water Resources crews, contractors, engineers, developers, customers, other utilities, etc. Inspects and tests backflow prevention assemblies to conform to City of Titusville Cross Connection Control Program. Installs and maintains backflow prevention assemblies. Work is performed under the direction of the Field Operations Foreman.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate or equivalent and 3 to 5 years of experience in water distribution and/or wastewater collection or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess a class “C” Water Distribution and a Class “C” Wastewater Collection Technician Certification within one year from date of hire. Must possess Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester and Repair Certification within one year of date of hire.
Possession of valid Florida Operators Class “D” drivers license. Subject to long hours, possible weekend work, and 24-hour on-call status. Knowledge of computer and software applications required. Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform manual tasks occasionally under adverse weather conditions. Daily tasks involve bending, stooping, crawling, and lifting materials/equipment up to 50 pounds. Must have physical stamina and agility to walk in uneven terrain and work in unimproved areas under construction during utility installations and maintenance tasks, including wet trenches and other adverse situations on a daily basis. Must possess adequate sight and hearing sensory capabilities to receive and give orders or directions in regard to work safety operations in the presence of moderate background noise.
