|Description: || ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:|
This is technical and skilled work developing, modifying, implementing, and coordinating the parameters and details of the Wastewater Collection Preventive Maintenance Programs with the responsibility for directing a group of unskilled and semi-skilled workers engaged in the daily maintenance and construction of wastewater collection and reclaimed water distribution systems. Incumbent must have significant job knowledge of the varied activities and handles routine assignments with little direct supervision. Exercises independent judgment and makes decisions within the scope of specific assignments. Assignments are received both verbally and in writing. Work is performed under the direction of the Wastewater Collections Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience. A combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered. Must possess a Class “B” Wastewater Collection Technician Certification within one year from date of hire. Must possess a factory CCTV inspection and high pressure/vacuum cleaning training certification. Proficient knowledge of computer and software applications, i.e., word-processing, spreadsheet, personal computer applications, report preparation, and project tracking.
Possession of a valid Florida Commercial Class “B” Operator's driver's license with endorsements. Subject to long hours, possible weekend work, and 24-hour on-call status. Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform manual tasks occasionally under adverse weather conditions. Daily tasks involve bending, stooping, crawling, and lifting materials/equipment up to 85 pounds. Must be able to enter excavations and confined spaces on a daily basis to perform assigned duties. Must have physical stamina and agility to walk in uneven terrain and work in unimproved areas under construction during utility installations and maintenance tasks, including wet trenches and other adverse situations on a daily basis. Must possess adequate sight and hearing sensory capabilities to receive and give orders or directions in regard to work safety operations in the presence of moderate background noise basis. Must have physical ability to perform daily tasks, which include stooping, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
