New coronavirus relief package offers aid for impacted small businesses


2021 American Rescue Plan Act

Small Business Assistance and Support Initiatives

Signed into law by President Biden in March 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act is a $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief package, which also provides additional support for the nation’s small businesses and most impacted industries. The Small Business Administration (SBA) currently administers several existing programs and will oversee the new efforts outlined below. Please note that the timeframe for launch of the Restaurant Revitalization Fund, which will be administered by the Small Business Administration (SBA), has not yet been announced, so be sure to stay tuned to the SBA Covid Relief Options page for additional information!

  • Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)
    • Adds $7.25B to the existing program
    • Expands eligibility to nonprofits; digital news services
  • Shuttered Venue Operators Grant program (SVOG)
    • Adds undisclosed amount of funding
    • Now allows application in conjunction with PPP
  • Economic Injury Disaster Loan Advance (EIDL)
    • Adds $15B + $5B for supplemental funding for those most impacted
  • NEW - Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF)
  • NEW - Community Navigator Pilot program
    • $100M for eligible organizations that support efforts to improve access to COVID assistance programs and resources
