Any person who decides to appeal any decision of the Student Advisory Council with respect to any matter considered at this meeting will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings be made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. The City desires to accommodate persons with disabilities. Accordingly, any physically handicapped persons, pursuant to Chamber 286.26 Florida Statutes, should, at least 48 hours prior to the meeting, submit a written request to the chairpersons that the physically handicapped person desires to attend the meeting.

IV. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – Approve the minutes of January 21, 2020. 



A. Improve the webpage and initiate related projects, such as updating the 2008 The Last Dance Prom Video – Receive status of having a rough draft of the video’s script. The goal is to have a rough script reviewed by the SAC members and approved at the SAC meeting on April 21, 2020 or the last regular meeting of this term. In January 2020, Secretary Batson volunteered to act as a co-screenwriter with Vice-Chair C. Phillips, if Co-Chairperson Almiñana was no longer available. 

B. Chamber of Commerce 2020 Longest TableFriday, February 28, 2020, at 6 p.m., on Mariner’s Way or Julia Street Parking Lot (Alternate location). Chamber of Commerce President Marcia Gaedcke will provide details on cost, location, and how you can assist. 

C. Host a Leadership SeminarThursday, February 27, 2020 at Parrish Medical Center (951 N. Washington Ave. Arrive at 6:45 a.m. at Main Entrance) 
  1. City Planner Mr. Eddy Galindo will run through a live demonstration of the main activity (model city) with your Council.
  2. Facilitator Geo Ropert to discuss leading your guests in soft concepts of leadership at the intro and end of the main activity.
  3. Turn to the planning guide pages in the agenda packet. Review status of door prizes, donations (like breakfast foods), and your role as hosts, and final preparations.
  4. Your attire: the polo shirts are ready in time for the seminar! City staff will distribute.​
D. Annual Report to City Council – Below is the list of SAC members scheduled to write and present the Annual Report to City Council on April 28, 2020 (6:30 p.m.). Reports must be emailed to City Liaisons by/before April 1, 2020. 
  • Introduction - (Staff will update template intro letter; however, presenter needed___?)
  • Host a Leadership Seminar –SEVOR (Write and Present)
  • Participate or organize a beach clean-up – BATSON (Tentative: Write and Present)
  • Support the Chamber of Commerce with hosting the 2020 Longest Table Event -​ HAMILTON (Write and Present)
  • Improve the DrinkDriveDie webpage and initiate related projects, such as updating the 2008 Last Dance Prom Video – C. PHILLIPS (Write and Present)
  • Conclusion and next year’s goals (see note immediately below) – RECICAR (Write and Present)
  • Reminder: By April 2020, SAC must cement 2-4 goals for the SAC 2020/2021 term, which RECICAR will announce in the conclusion of your Annual Report.​

1. Scholarship Award PolicyBy March 1st, Senior (12th grade) SAC members must submit an application for the accrued scholarship award to City staff liaisons, with prior annual attest statements no later than March 1st of the year of your graduation. This form is provided in your Council’s annual orientation & welcome packet.FYI: For the remainder of the 2019/2020 Student Advisory Council (SAC) term, City staff will monitor each senior’s qualification status and provide her or him with an annual attest form at your last regular meeting in April. Scholarships will be presented at the City Council meeting on April 28, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. (The Big Night!)

2. 2020/2021 SAC Council Member AppointmentsAtt. High School Advisors - By April 3, 2020, nominations for students that will serve on the 2020/2021 Student Advisory Council (SAC) are due from your respective high schools. These nominations will be confirmed or considered by the Titusville City Council on April 28, 2020 at 6:30 p.m.​​

3. Meeting Agendas (Reminder) – Your monthly meeting agenda will be emailed to you at least five (5) calendar days prior to each SAC meeting. City liaisons typically have difficulty with one or two email addresses. You may also stop at City Hall and pick-up a hardcopy prior to your meetings. Additionally, City staff posts the items on your Council’s agendas at, but not the full meeting agenda packet.​​​​
