The Historic Preservation Board (HPB) of the City of Titusville, Florida met in regular session at City Hall in the Council Chamber, located at 555 South Washington Avenue on Monday June 6, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.

Chairman Kiesel called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. Present were Vice Chairman Petyk, Secretary Adams, Member Gaetjens, Member Foster, Member Jonas, Member Green, and Alternate Member Kirk. Alternate Member Shifalo was absent. Also attending was Redevelopment Planner Tim Ford and Recording Secretary Laurie Dargie.

City Attorney Broome swore in Kirk Davis as the newest alternate member to the Historic Preservation Board.

Member Foster motioned to approve the minutes from the May 5, 2022 meeting. Vice Chairman Petyk seconded. There was a unanimous voice vote in favor.

Nomination form for 4050 Coquina Avenue
Mr. Ford gave a brief overview of the item.

Vice Chairman Petyk made a motion to accept the application for 4050 Coquina Avenue and approve forwarding it to the Historic Preservation Officer with S&ME. Member Foster seconded.

Workshop debrief
The Historic Preservation Board members discussed the workshop on May 19, 2022 and had the following comments.
- The water bill inserts do not seem to be helping with getting attendees, the individual letters seem to have a better response
- The Sign-in sheet should have an area asking how they heard about the workshop.
- Next workshop emphasizes a tour
- Make a presentation at the last April City Council meeting so that a proclamation can be made for the up coming Historic Preservation Month which will help get the word out.
Florida Department of Historical Resources FY2024 small matching grant
Mr. Ford said we need more letters of support to go with the grant application.
2022 Florida Trust Conference
Mr. Ford said that the City of Titusville Historic Preservation Board has won an award and it will be presented at the dinner on Thursday July 28, 2022.
Member Foster said City Council approved her six months leave of absence.
Mr. Ford said the water and sewer connections will be capped at 723 S. Palm Avenue and demo will follow.
Discussion took place amongst the Historic Preservation Board members regarding the CRA color palette and paint colors for local designations. Chairman Kiesel said that architectural guidelines would be helpful.
Member Foster brought up information regarding Commissioner Tobia stating he does not feel advisory boards are necessary.
