Mission, Goals, and Objectives

The purpose of the Planning Department is to perform the daily operations associated with the maintenance of the Comprehensive Plan, providing interpretations of the current planning and zoning regulations, development and site plan consultation and coordination, site plan review, and downtown development review and coordination.

The Department provides review and analysis of land use and development proposals to ensure compatibility with the community standards as established by the City's Land Development Regulations (LDR's), including zoning and subdivision regulations, Concurrency Management System and the adopted Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Department also provides FEMA Flood Zone and Community Rating System (CRS) information.
