Electronic Services
Curtis Lehmann Electronic Services Supervisor
Electronic Services designs, installs, and maintains the instrumentation used by the Water Resources Department. This instrumentation often acts as the eyes, ears, and sometimes hands for the various systems used by Water Resources. Through instrumentation, pumps can be monitored, flows measured, and valves adjusted on devices located miles away. This type of instrumentation is known as Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition or SCADA. Through actual wires or radio telemetry, information is sent by the device being monitored back to a computer or other device for display. Through these systems, monitoring personnel are kept informed of not only normal system functions, but also if any malfunctions occur. The system has even been designed to indicate when a device in the field is no longer communicating with the monitoring device.
