The City of Titusville, Florida / Community Development / Planning / U.S.1 Corridor StudyU.S. 1 CORRIDOR STUDY
The City commissioned the RMPK Group to develop a U.S. Highway 1 Corridor Master Plan, and to devise strategies for addressing land use concerns to stimulate the local economy and create a vision for the Corridor’s visual character. The Corridor Master Plan is designed to address public concerns related to economic development, future land use, transportation, neighborhood preservation, recreational opportunities and community aesthetics.
The assigned study area for the U.S. Highway 1 Corridor Master Plan is defined by the riverfront properties along the Indian River Lagoon to the east and State Road 50 (Cheney Highway) is the major roadway that defines the southern extent. Hopkins Avenue to the west and Grace Street to the north further delineate the Study Area boundaries. The U.S. 1 Highway passing through the Study Area is designated as the Indian River Lagoon Scenic Highway. The study area encompasses a total area of approximately 815.69 acres including roadways stretching over a 3.4 mile long corridor.
The links below present the plan vision, inventory and analysis, economic positioning strategy, the conceptual master plan, implementation strategies, and the capital projects and program initiatives. This document is intended to serve as a guiding document for the U.S. 1 Corridor and sets forth actions, recommendations and implementation strategies to promote the desired vision for the future development of the U.S. 1 Corridor Study Area.
