Jesus Vieiro is nominated for City of Titusville Employee of the Month for November 2007.  During this time, Jesus coordinated several complex contracting actions critical to the smooth operations of several major city programs.  His meticulous attention to detail and   financial analysis ensured the city was getting the best value for its dollar and that each contract action was conducted in accordance with federal and state acquisition regulations.  Jesus is an exemplary role model and approaches each and every assigned task with remarkable efficiency, professional competence and outstanding enthusiasm. 

Of particular note was Jesus’ efforts coordinating the lease/purchase of nearly three quarters of a million dollars in solid waste automation equipment.  After reviewing the vendors initial proposal, Jesus developed an alternative lease/purchase option that provided substantial savings in debt service costs, allowed for staggered rotation of key equipment and ensured the city could implement its solid waste automation program on schedule and within its working capital budget.

Jesus also coordinated a smooth fiscal year transition, validating an exhaustive list of approved vendors of record and ensuring the city could procure its list of approved capital outlays upon passage of the adopted budget.  Jesus’ hard work and expertise assists every department and program in the city.  Among the items that Jesus has coordinated recently:

·        Multiple Water Resource contracts for Area IV

·        GSG Fire Assessment Fee Consultant

·        Overhaul of the City’s copier program

·        Purchase of a New Fire Truck

·        Ground Water Decontamination efforts

These are just a few of the projects that Jesus and his talented staff handle in the course of a typical month.  Jesus is a tireless worker and treats each and every procurement as if it were a personal transaction out of his own pocket…he strives to get the best value and benefit for the city for each hard earned taxpayer dollar.
