ATV & Off-Road Enforcement

Our department has a specially equipped off-road unit that helps us patrol our miles of bike trails and off-road areas. TPD also utilizes this equipment to patrol construction sights and subdivisions.

Our ATV unit consists of two Suzuki 400 4X4's and a Yamaha Rhino (two seater). The unit also has a 4X4 pick-up truck -all equipment purchased at no cost to the taxpayer. Forfeiture Funds, money seized from criminals, were used to fund this specialty unit.

Only Officers who have attended a State Safety course use the ATVs. Training is provided by Florida's Fish & Wildlife Commission's Law Enforcement branch.
