City Staff from Three Departments Receive Green Belt Certifications

The City of Titusville is proud to announce that Amber Ferland and Evelyn Jensen of Public Works, Maureen Gochee of Support Services and Matt Demmon and Josh Little of Law Enforcement received their Green Belt Certifications.  They completed Lean projects including:  Tracking system for Resident calls, Fleet Purchases, Drug Screening and Field Report Processes.
In January 2015, City staff completed a weeklong Green Belt course taught by CAS Adaptive Solutions CEO Don Johnston.  A Lean Six Sigma project uses the DMAIC model for process improvement, progressing through the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control phases of the model.  Lean Six Sigma is part of the City Council’s Strategic Plan Priorities FY 2015 of Efficient and Effective Services, to develop an organizational culture of continuous improvement.
In order to achieve Green Belt certification, candidates are required to complete four steps:  attend training, pass an exam, complete a project and present the project demonstrating use of the Lean DMAIC model and knowledge of Lean Six Sigma techniques.
The above Staff completed the certification process and received their Green Belt certificates at the July 28, 2015, 5:30 PM, Council Meeting.
