Plans & Specification Requirements

The plans and specifications, which accompany a permit must be prepared in detail sufficient for the City’s Plans Examiners to determine if all Code requirements have been met. A "Plans and Specifications Checklist" is provided to assist you in making sure that your plans are complete.

Specific detailed information is required with each of these submittals. To help avoid confusion and otherwise unnecessary delays, you are encouraged to contact the permitting office at (321) 383-5826 for additional information about these requirements.

Plans & Specifications Checklist:

  • Site Plan showing all existing and proposed structures, paving, parking, trees, drainage, utilities and easements.
  • Foundation Plan and details to scale.
  • Floor Plan to scale with labeled rooms and spaces.
  • Exterior and interior elevations as appropriate.
  • Schedule of windows, doors, and room finishes.
  • Plumbing Plan with riser diagram to scale.
  • Electrical Plan with riser detail and load calculations.
  • Details of proposed alterations and renovations.
  • Framing Schedule with size and dimension details.
  • Florida Energy Code Worksheet demonstrating compliance with the Florida Energy Code.
  • Engineered Truss Plan showing truss plans and loads.
  • Details showing plans comply with Chapter 16 of the Florida Building Code, which addresses wind loading or hurricane and storm wind resistance requirements.
