CAUTION: The City of Titusville has received several complaints from citizens in reference to receiving fraudulent telephone calls from subjects claiming to be with the utility department. If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

Commander Jim McInnis (Ret.)
James “Jim” McInnis joined TPD in 1982 and served our department for 26 years.

Born in Michigan, Jim served in the US armed forces and worked for five years as a Deputy Sheriff in Mason County, Michigan before joining the Titusville Police Department in January 1982. He quickly made Detective in our Criminal Investigations section. Jim was promoted to Sergeant in 1986, Lieutenant in 1991, Captain in 1995, and Commander in 1999. He also graduated the FBI National Academy, Session 187.

Among his many achievements, he was credited with helping create the Titusville Police Athletic League (PAL). Commander James “Jim” McInnis retired in June 2008.

During his tenure, he was awarded a Life Saving award, Honorable Service, three Unit Citations, 15 year Good Conduct, two Officer of the Month awards, 1993 City Mission Statement Award, and Exceptional Duty in 1994.
