Thanksgiving Week: Thursday’s pickup for garbage, recycling and yard trash will be on Wednesday. There will be no other changes for the week.

CAUTION: The City of Titusville has received several complaints from citizens in reference to receiving fraudulent telephone calls from subjects claiming to be with the utility department. If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

Officers Respond to Shots Fired

Just before 6:00 PM on Thursday August 4th 2016, Titusville Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired at 810 Sycamore Street.
A vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle was seen leaving the Apartment Complex.
Officers identified the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle did not stop, however, it slowed and a suspect got out and fled. The fleeing suspect was quickly apprehended.

The other suspect continued to drive the vehicle and stopped in the El Leoncito Restaurant parking lot, located at 4280 S. Washington Ave. Officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, however she struck an officer with her vehicle and fled again.

Officer’s discharged their firearms in response to the threat. The suspect drove from the parking lot and stopped not far from the scene. She was taken into custody without incident.

There were no injuries. As standard procedure, both Titusville Police Officers have been placed on paid administrative leave. This is an active ongoing investigation.
