TITUSVILLE, FL - (August 18, 2015) – Do you know how your drinking water is treated? Now is your chance to learn at the City of Titusville Water Resources’ Open House. The public is invited to attend Water Resources’ Open House on Thursday, August 27, 2015, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Mourning Dove Water Treatment Plant located at 2836 Garden Street in Titusville.
The Open House will include a Ribbon-Cutting at 5:30 p.m. for four recently refurbished sand filters that are an integral part of the water treatment process. The Open House is free to the public and will feature informational displays from each of Water Resources’ divisions, conservation items and information, and facility tours. Light refreshments will be served.
According to Water Conservation and Public Outreach Manager, Maureen Phillips, “The Open House is part of our commitment to reach out to the Titusville community. We want our residents to know what steps we take to ensure the quality and safety of their drinking water. The open house also provides a great opportunity for residents to meet representatives from our divisions and learn about the many services we offer.”
“Our water plant has been here for over fifty years, but most people have never been inside,” added Sean Stauffer, Titusville’s Water Resources Director. “The open house is a great way for our customers to see firsthand the drinking water treatment process; and, we invite everyone to come and learn.”
