Garden Street Bicycle-Pedestrian Overpass Signage

Join our GTR Co-Founder and District 1 County Commissioner, Robin Fisher in supporting signage on the East Central Regional Rail-Trail, recognizing our community.

"FDOT is ready to build a bicycle-pedestrian bridge across Garden Street in Titusville that will extend the East Central Regional Rail-Trail to the south. Traffic counts indicate that 12,800 cars a day will approach this bridge from the west and east. Many motorists drive these cars as tourists and as day visitors to and from the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and the Canaveral National Seashore." says Commissioner Fisher.

Placing signage on the bridge that recognizes our community, will create awareness, and would help augment Brevard County tourism marketing at little cost. Existing trail signs currently displayed on the West Orange Trail and the Withlacoochee State Trail bridges have been a focus for picture taking. Visitors post their photos on social media sites giving essentially free promotion for the area.

We want people taking "Selfies" on our section of the trail! Building on our eco-tourism and the bike trails will bring visitors of all ages and from all over to North Brevard, thus creating a major economic impact for our communities.

Please join us and send a letter asking FDOT to include large-sized, aesthetically pleasing and permanent signs on each side of the bridge marking it as the East Coast Greenway and to include the name of our local segment (name yet to be determined).
