Project Targets Intersections with Highest Crash Rates
Tuesday, May 05, 2015

The Titusville Police Department, and the Florida Department of Transportation, have partnered in a project designed to make certain intersections safer in our community. Beginning on May 5th, roadside digital boards will display traffic awareness messages at three intersections in Titusville.
This traffic safety awareness project comes on the heels of an evaluation of the approximately two-hundred traffic accidents on Titusville roadways so far in 2015. Nearly sixty of those crashes occurred at the three intersections being targeted with these message boards.
“We are confident we can help make these intersections safer with this proactive initiative”, said Chief John Lau. “We are committed to making our roadways as safe as possible, added Lau.
The message boards are being loaned to the City by FDOT and will stay in place for one month.
