Arrest Made in Arson Homicide

An arrest has been made in the abandoned house fire at 19 N. Park Ave in Titusville that occurred just after 3AM on May 5th. Both the suspect and the victim are transient (homeless), and were involved in a dispute between each other.
DON LYLE LEACH, 56, of Titusville, was booked into Brevard County jail for MURDER 1st DEGREE, and ARSON (Structure).
The victim has been identified as Jeremy Pileggi, 27, of Titusville.
The victim was likely sleeping in the abandoned house when the suspect ignited a fire on the porch of the home. The investigation revealed that the suspect was angry at the victim and intentionally set the fire. Because most of the windows and doorways of the vacant house were boarded up, it would have been particularly difficult for the victim to have escaped. The medical examination today confirmed he died as a result of the fire.
Detectives developed leads early in the case, including an eyewitness who saw the suspect running from the scene. LEACH was taken into custody at the police department after being questioned by investigators.
