(Titusville, FL)-  Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run a tremendous success this year! On Thursday, April 23rd, members of the police department and other City team members participated in the event that benefits the Special Olympics of Florida.
The Titusville leg of the event went from Publix on Garden St, to Sand Point Park. Several other communities in Brevard County held their own leg of the run that culminated at Space Coast Stadium in Viera just after 6pm.
An exhibition softball game took place when the run ended on the field inside the stadium. The National Gold Medal Special Olympics Team “Banditz”, took on local law enforcement members “Enforcers”.
“The Special Olympic athletes love this event”, said Chief John Lau. “Seeing the smiles on the faces of the players and their family members makes this one of our favorites”.
