CAUTION: The City of Titusville has received several complaints from citizens in reference to receiving fraudulent telephone calls from subjects claiming to be with the utility department. If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

Police Investigate Single Suspicous Incident

Titusville Police are investigating a single incident which occurred on Wednesday, 9/24/14 at 8AM on Sycamore St. near the railroad tracks. A Titusville High school student had an encounter with an unknown person while walking to school. The intent of the unidentified person is unclear at this time. Titusville Police continue to investigate the incident and have taken considerable steps for undercover surveillance and visibility in the following days. Suspect was described only as a black male, 5-11, wearing a black hoody.
 
At this time we have not located any direct eye-witnesses to this single incident.  If anyone has first-hand knowledge of the event, we urge them to contact the Titusville Police Department.
 
We are aware of some incorrect information on social media indicating a second incident. Nobody has reported a second incident of any kind to our department at this time.
