Titusville Detective Named County Investigator Of The Year
Monday, May 01, 2006

Detective of the Year
Detective Gary Boyer

Titusville Police are proud to announce that one of our own was named the

Brevard County's Chief's Association 2005 “Detective of the Year” for Brevard County, Florida.

Detective Boyer was also awarded Titusville Police “Officer of the Year” for 2005.

Detective Gary Boyer was presented this award for his meritorious service as an investigator with the Titusville Police. During 2005, his investigative skills were instrumental in solving a brutal domestic violence murder.

Also, he was also able to build a successful case and make an arrest in an attempted murder (shooting). Gary also was involved in breaking up a FEMA Fraud case where eight suspects were defrauding FEMA out of Hurricane Katrina relief funds; and through a special operation, he was able to lure a child molester back to Titusville and

arrest him after the suspect had fled to New York.

All of this exceptional detective work was done while Detective Boyer himself was displaced from his home most of the year after it was severely damaged in a hurricane in 2004.

These are only a few examples of Detective Boyer’s exceptional service in 2005. We are very proud of him!
