If you receive a telephone call of this nature and are unsure about the origin of the call, please immediately hang up and contact your local law enforcement agency for further assistance.

Fox Lake Sanctuary Prescribed Fire Planned for 4/1/2014

Titusville, Fla. – A 35 acre prescribed fire within the Fox Lake Sanctuary is planned for Tuesday April 1st between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. by the Brevard County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands Program with assistance from Brevard County Fire Rescue.

Prescribed fires involve the careful application of fire by professionals under specific weather and fuel conditions to achieve environmental resource management goals. Benefits include the reduction of wildfire risk, habitat restoration and the recycling of nutrients back into the soil.
