A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for the following addresses on South Washington Avenue: 3015 through 3425 South Washington Avenue.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday August 28, 2013, a temporary loss of water pressure was experienced in this area due to a water main break. The water main has been repaired and this notice is issued as a precautionary measure only.
Therefore, as a precaution, we advise that all water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes be boiled. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. Allow water to cool prior to drinking. As an alternative bottled water may be used. Your water is safe for bathing, laundering and other non-consumptive uses.
This “precautionary boil water notice” will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey confirms that the water is safe to drink. Notices will be issued to all homes and business owners when the Precautionary boil water notice has been rescinded. The notice is Anticipated to be rescinded by Friday, August 30, 2013. However, all water for consumption should continue to be boiled until Rescinding notices are received.
