Citizen Donates Painting of Titusville's First Fire Engine

Titusville Fire and Emergency Department received a very welcome surprise May 3 when Titusville resident H. Russell Weinert presented our department with an original watercolor painting of our 1925 American LaFrance fire engine, Titusville's first fire truck.  "I was at the Indian River Festival last year and they had a bucket for donating for fixing up the engine and it was one of the prizes. Little did I know that I would win!" exclaimed Mr. Weinert.  "My new wife, Donna, and I were moving into a new home and she said the painting should rightly be given to the fire department and I agreed."  Chief Kracun expressed the gratitude of the department for the gift and indicated that a proper place within the lobby area of Fire Headquarters would be found for displaying the piece.
